Used iPhone with Flappy Bird fetches $90k on eBay

Some gamers appear to be suffering from severe "Flappy Bird" withdrawal symptoms and they tried to get their fix by bidding for a used iPhone with the game installed in it.

There can only be one.

A report on tech site Mashable said a user of online auction site eBay offered for sale an iPhone with the game, posting an initial price of $650.

"Within hours, the price has already jumped to $99,900, with 74 bids placed," Mashable reported.

A separate report on T3.com said the bidding reached $90,000 "overnight," but the listing had since been removed.

"Although the game can no longer be downloaded, it is still available to play on devices if already installed and many entrepreneurial eBay users have seized the opportunity to cash in on the game's popularity. The game consists of flying a bird through pipes by tapping the screen repeatedly," T3 said.

"Flappy Bird" was developed by Dong Nguyen, who took down the game from app stores due to pressure from its success.

Mashable cited reports indicating the game was raking in about $55,000 in ad revenue per day
