Jonathan and ASUU Find Ways of Resolving Four Month Strike
The academic staff Union of Universities (ASUU) entered into a meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan Monday in Abuja in a ‘last attempt’ to find a solution the four month old strike by University Lecturers.
The 2:30pm meeting had in attendance, the President, the Vice President, the secretary to the government of the federation, ministers of education and Labour.
Those representing ASUU included the Chairman of ASUU, Dr Fagge and other members of the executive of the Union.
Mallam Abdulwaheed Omar, the President of Nigerian Labour Congress was also in attendance.
While exchanging pleasantries with the ASUU delegation, The President exchanged pleasantries with the ASUU delegation saying, “I hope this strike will end today. Our children have suffered enough. We must find a solution.”
